Presidio of San Francisco William Penn Mott Jr. Visitor Center
Originally an historic military guardhouse and prison, the transformed William Penn Mott Jr. Visitor Center houses educational exhibits about the 1,491-acre Presidio, the U.S. National Park where it resides.
The building’s historic features were incorporated into the two-room design. Exhibits include a large-scale model of the park and a “Voices of the Presidio” display. The most current LED lighting technology and energy efficient control system are key components of the lighting design.
An estimated five million people visit the Presidio annually.
