Part-Time Accounting Assistant 

Location: San Francisco, CA (This is an onsite role; remote work is not available) 

Position Type: 16–20 hours per week, flexible scheduling to fit your availability 

Compensation: $26 – 32/hour 

Start Date: Immediately 

Position Summary: 

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time work to supplement their income while gaining real-world experience in accounting. Hours are flexible to accommodate daytime commitments such as classes or training programs. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Project accounting Project billing, including: 
  • Client invoicing 
  • Revenue tracking 
  • Accounts payable and accounts receivable support 
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency  
  • Other duties as assigned 

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger support 
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word
  • Hands-on Deltek Vision or Deltek Vantagepoint experience

Senior Associate: Project Manager 

Location: San Francisco, CA or New York, NY

Reports to: Principals/Associate Principals

Compensation: $95,000-$105,000 (Full Time)

Position Summary: 

Senior Associate works directly with the Associate Principals and Principals to support all aspects of project and systems design and other consulting services. Specific roles include project management, design and documentation for a variety of projects. The position requires a high level of attention to detail and accuracy. Superior documentation and interpersonal skills are critical. Travel both domestic and international may be required. The Senior Associate is expected to participate in project planning and business development. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Work on multiple projects of various sizes and complexity at any given time
  • Successfully provide primary Project Management duties with significant clients in collaboration with Principals and studio staff:
    • Coordination and collaboration with other design staff, as well as with architects and engineers outside of our office
    • Provide concise and consistent record-keeping throughout all project phases
    • Maintain a positive and productive relationship with Clients (Owners, Developers, Architects)
    • Ensure timely deliverables within a project schedule
    • Work to complete projects within scoped services to ensure profitability
    • Monitor, review and revise compliance testing documents for systems within Apeiro Design scope of work
    • Work on several areas and disciplines of a project at the one time
  • Participate in theatrical systems design in a lead design capacity – An emphasis on Theatrical Lighting Systems is highly preferred
  • General CAD and Revit document creation, when required to support production staff
  • Prepare and edit specifications for all technical systems
  • Lead development of project work, technical standards and deliverables
  • Review shop drawings and submittal drawings
  • Actively support development and procurement of new business for the firm
  • Support repeat business with existing clients
  • Develop relationships with peers that will lead to future business
  • Perform assigned duties to the best of ability and faithfully observe obligations to the firm
  • Ensure security and confidentiality of project and intellectual property information

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong computer skills – 7+ years’ experience with AutoCAD and REVIT
  • Experience with SketchUp, Rhino and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Deep understanding of theatrical lighting power and control systems
  • Familiarity with audio, video and communication systems distribution infrastructure and network technologies
  • Familiarity with rigging and stage machinery systems
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Team player able to work harmoniously and effectively in a creative studio environment
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Self-starter and able to work independently and productively
  • Knowledge of basic clerical practices and procedures
  • Initiative, independent judgment and creative problem solving
  • Demonstrated grace under pressure
  • Ensure security and confidentiality of project and intellectual property information

Desired Education & Education:

  • 7+ years’ experience working in a theatrical consulting or adjacent industry OR
  • 10+ years’ experience in performing arts production and/or design for live performance and facilities systems design
  • Advanced degree in theatre production/technical management, architectural design or engineering or equivalent industry experience
  • Held in high regard in the industry 

Working Conditions/Environment: 

  • Position to be based out of either of our San Francisco or New York offices
  • Works in a general office and creative studio environment with occasional travel to project meetings and job sites around the world
  • Primary schedule is Monday to Friday with nights and weekends as needed for project deadlines
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and provide identification sufficient to complete all necessary government forms
  • Employment will be conditioned on successful completion of background checks. In compliance with state and local laws, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records
  • Ability to safely, frequently and independently move and handle 25 pounds
  • Ability to work in low-light environments typical to backstage areas
  • Ability to move safely and independently at construction work sites
  • Ability to climb a ladder
  • Ability to work at a desk with a computer for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate clearly on a telephone

Associate: Theatre Space Designer

Location: San Francisco, CA or New York, NY

Reports to: Principals/Associate Principals/Senior Associates

Compensation: $93,000-$101,000 (Full Time)

Position Summary: 

Apeiro Design is seeking a designer with architectural training and experience with the design of performing arts facilities. This Associate role works directly with the Senior Associates, Associate Principals and Principals to support all phases of project design and other consulting services. Specific responsibilities include design management, design and documentation for a variety of performing arts and immersive entertainment projects. The position requires a high level of attention to detail and accuracy. Superior documentation and interpersonal skills are critical. Domestic and international travel may be required. The Associate is expected to support project planning and work towards developing peer relationships that lead to future business development.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provide primary room design services for a variety of performing arts and immersive entertainment venue / program types and scales:
    • Audience Chamber design:
      • Conceptual room shaping
      • Spatial requirements for theatrical systems, acoustical requirements, and architectural finishes
      • Seating layouts including sightline studies and code compliance review
      • Interface with Architectural, Structural, Acoustical, and MEP team members to ensure coordination of all applicable elements
    • Site massing and adjacency studies of complex program as supplied by Principals or Architectural design team members
    • Room Layouts such as, but not limited to: dressing rooms, control rooms, AV rack rooms, dimmer rooms, and other project specific spaces as needed
