The revamped space includes a larger stage and a more dynamic seating configuration in an exciting club-like atmosphere. The “Britney: Piece of Me” production performed more than 250 shows over the course of four years in the Axis Theater, renamed the Bakkt Theater.

Echoing the nightclub feel of the renovated theatre, the lobby was completely redesigned replete with color changing architectural light coves and a giant (40’ long x 20’ wide) custom color changing chandelier. Apeiro Design (formerly Auerbach Pollock Friedlander and Auerbach Glasow) developed the program for the chandelier: color mixing, fades and chases in signature colors for Spears’ show and a completely different color palette for the days Spears is not performing. The color changes and kinetic patterns increase in complexity as show time approaches. The downstairs and upstairs concourses are a transition zone between the lobby and the theatre with lighting enhancing the many new food and beverage and merchandising shops. The architectural lighting in the theatre was replaced and augmented to meet current egress code requirements.
