The Central Hall at 55-feet wide and 200-feet long with its stacks and reading areas is easily reconfigurable to accommodate evolving programmatic needs. Ample daylight is provided through a south-facing clerestory and large circular skylights. The electric lighting is responsive to daylight conditions and automatically adjusts throughout the day, providing uplight for the ceiling as well as general downlight for the space. Side pavilions off the Central Hall include a makerspace, story lab, and reading room, as well as multiple group study rooms.

The parking lot and pedestrian path/bikeway are adjacent to Grayson Creek, a sensitive Creekside habitat. The exterior lighting is carefully designed with Dark Sky Approved light fixtures configured to keep light away from the Creek. The outdoor activity yard with log sculptures is a children’s play area for use during the day and night.
