Sun City Showa Kinen Koen

Sun City Showa Kinen Koen is the most recent property to open in the Sun City chain of Japanese continuing care retirement communities. Showa Kinen Koen offers 4-star hospitality, and a lavish environment for seniors to age gracefully.

Apeiro Design has been working on the Sun City projects for over a decade, engaged by interior design firm BAMO to provide lighting design services for the public areas of multiple projects.

This 645-unit residential development is built on the northern edge of Tokyo’s Showa Kinen Koen National Park, the largest park in the Tokyo area. The public spaces are filled with light, and views to the public park and private gardens. As with the other Sun City projects, Apeiro Design assisted the interior designer with the design of the decorative custom lighting fixtures which are located throughout the facility. Showa Kinen Koen is another example in the tradition of Sun City of gracious design and comfortable living for the senior community.
