Apeiro Design (Auerbach Glasow and Auerbach Pollock Friedlander) designed the lighting and provided theatre consulting for the renovation of the 1,700-seat Main Sanctuary and the 250-seat Martin Meyer Sanctuary that converts from a worship space into a theatre, as well as the classrooms, public circulation, library, a meeting room, art vitrines and the reception area.

The Main Sanctuary included the renovation of the historic chandeliers and sconces. The creation of an oculus in the dome provided an opportunity for concealed theatrical lighting to accent light key architectural and religious elements such as the Torah ark and the bimah.

The Martin Meyer Sanctuary included the refurbishment of the historic light fixtures, improved areas of illumination and accent lighting of architectural features. In theatre mode, it could easily be converted into a worship space by rotating stage panels and adding a portable bimah and Torah ark. Theatrical systems included an overhead pipegrid, stage extension and lighting controls.
